Do not start role playing until either an admin or a co-admin has accepted you and you are in the 'Member' group (PM me if you do not understand what this is.)
Creatures Allowed:
Anything real or unreal. Creativity is welcome and encouraged. You can make up your own if you like.
There is only one power allowed for beginning characters. If you want your character to shape shift, then they will have to level-up to that. The first level of shape shifting is the ability to shift into one form, the next level would be two forms. Also, anything with wings can fly. But if it can fly and doesn't have wings, then that is a power.
Life spans are determined by you. If your character can live for a hundred years then that's great, but do you want to play it for a hundred years? Seasons are posted in the info center, the years are also numbered. Be sure to see what year you joined your character. (This is in the info center at the top of the main page)
Breeding and birthing is allowed. Keep in mind that someone has to play the child/children. You can either put them up for adoption or play them yourself. There is no set gestation period. The parents decide on the traits (the profile must be posted as well.)
In Character:
***IMPORTANT*** No power playing or godmoding. Power playing/godmoding are controlling another person's character, and making your character invincible. Mind reading is a minor form of both of these. Please do not make it so that your character knows precisely what the other character(s) are thinking. Don't give it the power to either. (Powerplay is very specific. You can say you aimed to hit the other character, but you can't say that you actually did. The other player decides whether you hit or not.) For example- This is wrong "Kyla struck the horse with her mace. It breached skin and dug into the muscles." This is right "Kyla aimed for the flank of the horse she hoped to breach into the skin and tear some muscle." Please don't get it wrong.
***IMPORTANT*** This is a free for all role play and the post minimum is one paragraph. I expect the paragraphs to be 4-5 sentences (about 150 characters, ex. 'a' 'b' 'c'.)
No double posting (you post after yourself). There is a modify option for every post you make.
Spelling and grammar are important. There is a spell check button at the bottom of the 'Post' window; It doesn't take long and is easy to use. As for grammar, the sort of thing I would be concerned about is a sentence like this: "I speak English very good." It is correct like so: "I speak English very well."
When writing up your character's profile explain your appearance as though you didn't have a picture (for those of you who do have one.)
Housing isn't specified. If you want a house or a place to live, then go ahead and say you have one.
Please remember to STAY ACTIVE! We can't stress that enough. Especially since this site is new. If you are not going to be able to post for more than two days, you must make a post on the 'away' board. If you do not do this, then you're account will be deleted after a week.
If no one has replied to a post for five days or more it is considered inactive.
Make sure you reply to any activity checks. Sometimes when people join they are deleted soon afterwords because they did not reply to the activity check. We will do our best to remind you when you join.
Out of Character:
Respect your fellow role-players.
Respect the staff.
Respect the guests.
Respect our boards.
Do not sign up with an inappropriate username, aka 'hottiewithabody' and others like that. It is not private and can be seen by anyone on the rpg. Usernames are used to message each other and identify members. Your password is private, that can be whatever you want it to be. Your account will be deleted if you break this rule.
I'm going to make it so that a person gets a 20% warning when they have done 1 thing bad that isn't so serious. If they do things that are more serious then the warnings will be higher ect... Honestly it's hard to get a warning, generally you can't get one in character unless you power-play, and you have to be cussing or rude to get one out of character. (There are other ways to get in trouble too.) We won't come down on you hard. If you make a mistake, it's ok, we'll tell you what you did. If you do it again then you will be warned.
The staff can't read every single post. Please report someone if they break a rule. Thank You.
If your characters hate each other, that doesn't mean you (the players) should hate each other. If you're having a serious disagreement with someone, try to solve it calmly (and keep in mind whether it is worth the frustration or not.) If you really must go to OOC shouting and arguing, then take it to e-mail, or something similar. (In-character fighting is a completely different story.) Any ooc fighting on the boards will get your posts and such deleted and you will get a 30% warning.
On images: DO NOT MAKE YOUR SIGNATURE EXTREMELY LONG.
Staff
These are the rankings of the site for both staff and non staff.
1 New Member- Not yet accepted member
2 Member- Accepted member
3 Moderator- Accepted staff (that has experience)
4 Right Hand Moderator- Highly trusted staff (I will probably not have many of these)
5 Co-Admin- Helps manage the site when I am gone
6 Administrator- Managers of the site
To be an accepted member just means that you have one or more characters accepted into the game. Everyone is a new member when they register.
There can be multiple of anything, but each level takes on more trust. Please don't apply for co-admin on your first day.
If the admin is being slow or not logged on, then it is ok for two moderators to accept a character. One of those moderators must be specifically approved for the 'task.'
Other: (These aren't rules, they just need to be covered.)
Karma is a new thing to proboards, or at least I've been told, so I'm going to explain it. (To the left) Beneath a player's name on any post is a little bit of basic information, this is called the mini-profile. At the bottom of a mini-profile is something labeled 'Karma'. Beneath the label are two links. One says 'Exalt' and the other 'Smite'. Exalt will give the person a karma point. Smite will take a karma point away. If this gets out of hand I will disable it, so don't make a million accounts just to get someone in the negatives.
In the ooc board there are two sub-boards. One is for Announcements, the other is for RP Games. The Announcement one needs to be checked every now and then. The RP Games one can be used if you are waiting for someone else to reply or don't have anything else to do. It is also for fun, don't feel like you have to reply to anything there.
There is a thing for threads that gives them a description just like boards have. On them there is 50 character limit with both the subject and the description combined.
Have Fun!
